Off-campus code
It is sometimes necessary to insert the following code at the beginning of a link to allow it to work from off-campus:
http://gateway.cwc.edu:2048/login?url=
Example
http://gateway.cwc.edu:2048/login?url=http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=f5h&AN=50298785&site=ehost-live&scope=site
What are persistent links?
Persistent links allow users to directly access content within a subscription database. They can be emailed or pasted into online courses for future reference. The process for locating or building persistent links varies significantly between databases; we hope this guide will be of assistance but please contact us if your issue is not addressed here.
Basic instructions
1. Locate desired content within a database.
2. Identify persistent link (may also be called durable link, stable link, bookmark, permalink, etc.)
3. Verify off-campus code (http://gateway.cwc.edu:2048/login?url=) or (http://proxy.cwc.edu:2048/login?url) is embedded in the link. If not, add it to the beginning.
4. Copy and paste the link into an email or online class.
5. Test the link from off-campus.
