About the Library

Located in the Main Hall of campus, the CWC Library is open to students, staff, faculty, and members of the community.

CWC student and staff ID cards are used as your library card

 

Either visit the library or Apply Online to activate it for library use. First floor of Library

 

Student and staff privileges include:

 

  • Instructor Reserves

  • Technology Checkouts (laptops, webcams, earbuds, hi-quality headphones, Wifi hotspots)

  • Up to 30 item checkouts

  • Free Interlibrary Loan

  • 24/7 Access to all library subscription databases, eJournals, and eBooks

  • Internet access, scanning, copying, and printing

 

Facilities

  • 25 computers for student, staff, and community member use; located on two floors.

  • Free WiFi

  • Black/white and color printing

  • Faxing

  • Copying

  • 1 large and 5 standard-sized study rooms available on a first come, first serve basis.

  • Quiet reading/study area on the second floor with comfortable seating.

  • 2 larger rooms for group or individual study. These rooms can be reserved for classes or CWC authorized meetings, check with the front desk for scheduling.

  • Free Table: A place for swapping items. Take or leave stuff for free!

  • CWC's official "Lost & Found" is located in the Library. See the front desk to drop off something you found, or pick up something you lost.

 

Library Collection includes:

 

  • More than 30,000 physical books & 800,000 eBooks

  • DVDs, books on CD, and online audiobooks

  • A rotating leisure collection (Popular fiction and non-fiction)

  • Dozens of magazine subscriptions such as GPS World, The Week, American Indian Quarterly, Scientist, etc.

  • Databases containing millions of articles, maps, journals, reviews, images, videos, and eBooks

  • In addition to the technology checkouts mentioned above, the library has calculators, anatomical models, molymod kits, and board games.

 

Interlibrary Loan

 

The CWC Library participates in the Wyoming Libraries Database (WYLD) consortium meaning that we can provide users with access to materials through interlibrary loan from nearly all Wyoming Libraries as well as libraries throughout the United States. Interlibrary Loan is a free service for staff and students—however, late fees, damage, or replacement costs are the users' responsibility and determined by the lending library. Your CWC library card can also be used in person at any Wyoming Library that is part of the WYLD consortium.

 

Community Members and Public Library Patrons are welcome to use the library with limited privileges including:

 

  • Guest Internet AccessLibrary Front Desk

  • Up to 5 item checkouts: books, CDs, or DVDs with valid Wyoming Library card

  • Database access (in-library use only unless marked 'Open Access')

  • Scanning

  • Copying and Printing for a fee

  • Reference and Research appointments with a librarian

 

Borrower’s Agreement

By activating your student ID card you are agreeing to the following terms:

  • Borrower is responsible for all use of library card regardless of consent or knowledge.

  • Borrower is responsible for all lost, damage, or unreturned materials and must pay replacement cost. Failure to do so will result in a grade hold.

  • Reserve items and DVDs incur overdue fines of $1 per day.

  • Borrowers with $10 or more in fines or fees will be blocked from further use.
