Interlibrary Loans

  • The CWC Library participates in the Wyoming Libraries Database (WYLD) consortium, meaning that we can provide users with access to materials through interlibrary loan from nearly all Wyoming Libraries and libraries throughout the United States. Interlibrary Loan is a free service for staff and students—however, late fees, damage, or replacement costs are the users' responsibility and are determined by the lending library. Your CWC library card can also be used in person at any Wyoming Library in the WYLD consortium.
  • A NOTE FOR OUTREACH AREAS
    • Your CWC Library card will default to picking up a physical item at the CWC Library in Riverton, WY. If you would like to pick up a physical item from a closer library, please use your local public library card, and the item can be sent to your local library.

How to Request a Book

Steps to requesting items through Interlibrary Loan

  • 1. Sign into your Library Account
    • Found at the top right of the library catalog, where it shows "Sign In."
    • Use your barcode number on the back of your ID Card
    • PIN = WYLD
      • This will show your account where you can view all items checked out, overdue, recommended lists, - etc.  More on this in the Your Library Account section.
  • 2. Use the search bar to conduct your search using KEYWORDS.
    • Your search will initially show all items in the CWC library associated with your search.
  • 3. If an item is located at CWC and you want us to hold it at the Circulation Desk, fill out the form
    • If you are not logged in, it will ask you to log in to complete this task.
  • If you want an item that is not located at CWC, click on the All WYLD libraries search function at the top of the screen:
    • When you see a book you are interested in, you will click the button that says "Request."
      • Then fill out the information needed.
      • Again, if you are not signed into the system, you must sign in before requesting a book.
    • Want the book for longer?
      • Email Dianna Goheen or contact the Testing Center to discuss extending your loan.

If you have more questions, contact Dianna Goheen at dgoheen@cwc.edu. She can help.

If you do not see the book you are interested in under All WYLD Libraries, we may still be able to get it for you.

In the catalog you'll see information about WorldShare.

Image of Library Catalog. Says Similar Searches, with an example of a different title. Followed by In WorldShare Didn't find what you nee? Items not owned by Wyoming Libraries can be requested to your local library for pickup. With a blue box and gray letters that say Request through ILL

Clicking on "Request through ILL" will bring up a form that you can fill out with information regarding the item, and we'll search libraries outside of Wyoming for that item.
