Basic Information

ALEKS (Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces) is a Web-based Math assessment and learning system used by Central Wyoming College for placement into Math classes.

The ALEKS placement test uses adaptive questioning to quickly and accurately determine exactly what a student knows and doesn't know in math.

Through Learning Modules, ALEKS then instructs the student on the topics they are most ready to learn. As a student works through the modules, ALEKS periodically reassesses the student to ensure that topics learned are also retained. ALEKS courses are very complete in their topic coverage and avoids multiple-choice questions.

A student who shows a high level of mastery of the ALEKS Learning Modules will be successful in the actual course they are taking.

ALEKS is proctored by appointment at all of the CWC test centers. It is recommended that a student has applied to CWC and met with their adviser before making their appointment. ALEKS can also be available by remote testing with some conditions.  Please contact your test center for more information on this option.
